The vineyards are nestled between the Klein Drakenstein mountains and receive good doses of African sunshine. Excellent winemaking occurs on a historical piece of land in this region, as the land was once home to hundreds of Italian POW's in 1945 who were instrumental in the construction of the Du Toitskloof pass. The Italians erected a wooden cross to commemorate their time in the Klein Drakenstein area, wich was later replaced by a stainless steel one, to honor the POWs. This landmark can be seen from our property.

VINEYARDs and winemaking

The farm is managed by Arrie, Gawie and Herma Botha. Only handpicked grapes find their way into our charming boutique cellar. It is here that attention to viticulture, time-honored winemaking techniques, and true passion for wine are the driving forces behind these premium quality wines. In true artisan style the wine is hand crafted in a small cellar and matured in oak barrels.

The results is a wine loaded with fruit, layers of depth, commplexity, and elegantly balanced. The principle varietals grown on our farm are Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc.
